Neutron Activation & Radiochemistry
Neutron Activation Analysis is a sensitive and accurate analytical method the identified and quantified elements in a sample utilising characteristic gamma rays emitted during radioactive decay.
Samples are measured directly thus avoiding problems with sampling and sample preparation that can occur for some sample types.
NAA is considered a referee method, being based solely upon nuclear, not chemical properties. The chemical forms of elements present in a sample have virtually no effect on the results.
